Flying with Finch: Student Workshop

The Institute for Teaching through Technology and Innovative Practices (ITTIP) facilitated a workshop for sixteen middle school students at Longwood University on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Students that attended the workshop not only learned how to program in Scratch, but also how to program the Finch Robot in Scratch. Although there was an extensive wait list for the opportunity, students from Appomattox, Brunswick, Charlotte, Mecklenburg, Pittsylvania, Prince Edward, and Sussex counties were able to attend.

Participants received a Finch Robot as part of the opportunity. ITTIP hopes this fosters an interest in programming for not only those students that were able to attend, but also the families and peers of those participants.
